Why is buying organic a smarter choice and why should this matter to you?
Organic tea means no chemicals. Organic tea is grown without the use of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides. These chemicals have well-documented harmful effects on the environment, farmers & consumers who may ingest residues. Conventional tea-growing methods may maximize production in the short term, but there is a serious environmental & human cost.
Studies show that organic tea was significantly higher in tea polyphenols, EGCG, ECG, EGC, Pro and GABA compared to conventional non-organic tea. Therefore, organic farming is beneficial to improve tea quality & its health properties,
We prefer to source ingredients locally in Australia. We source from suppliers who are certified organic, or grown under organic principals & spray free.
We also support our local indigenous businesses by sourcing quality handpicked & wildcrafted ingredients.
Australia is still a little behind on providing spray free or organically grown produce. Drinking a chemical free beverage is very important to us, so, where we cannot source high quality organic ingredients locally, we choose imported certified organic ingredients.
As time goes on, & we become more aware of what we consume, & what we are putting back into our earth & if we collectively demand better for ourselves, I truly believe our farmers & growers will start to commit to also making this change.
